National No Tobacco Day
To mark the ‘National No Tobacco Day’ on October 9, Development Activities of Society-DAS launched day-long program at one of the mass-transportation hubs in the capital, Sayedabad Bus Terminal. As a part of the occasion, transport owners and workers were taken into a discussion concerning the injurious effect of smoking on public transport, the right of the non-smokers and the law abstain the smokers from doing it in the public periphery. Human-chains were formed later at the premises and relevant stickers and leaflets were handed around. In a bid to establish a smoke-free country, Bangladesh Anti Tobacco Alliance-BATA has been observing this day since 2011.
